Construction Management & Inspection

Construction Inspector
VDOT Hampton District

Position Requirements:

  • MUST have the required VDOT certificates and a minimum of two years of full-time employment in roadway maintenance, construction or transportation technician activities.
  • Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school Equivalence certificate.
  • Must be in good health and physically able to perform the duties required of the position; must be able to read, write, comprehend, and fluently speak the English language.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and must have use of a vehicle to travel to, from, and while on the project site.


Construction Inspector (Night Work)
Norfolk and Chesapeake, VA

This position requires a VDOT certified inspector for night work on maintenance contracts.

Position Requirements:

  • MUST have the required VDOT certificates and a minimum of two years of full-time employment in roadway maintenance, construction or transportation technician activities.

Permits Inspector
Richmond, VA

This position requires a Permits Inspector to assist the land Use and Management of VDOT Richmond. Must be familiar with utility locations, plans review and reading, as well as communication skills with contractors and utility companies, i.e. Dominion Power, Ms. Utility, gas companies and local municipalities in the given area. Will work a maximum of 30 hours per week billable to the client.

Primavera Implementation Consultant
Latin America

Alpha Corporation is seeking to further strengthen the Technology Professional Services team with an Implementation Consultant. You will provide on-site and remote services to clients during the implementation process; services include assistance with setup of applications, initial conversion data verification, training on the applications, and go-live assistance. In addition, Implementation Consultants teach live and web-based classes, and may be assigned to conduct business process reviews or gap analysis for clients. Excellent verbal written and communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.


Strategic Alliance Manager
Jackson, MS

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA and CPM, NCMA or PMP certification are preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in strategic procurement activities such as vendor management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation or contract management. Preferably in the utility nuclear generation industry.
  • 3+ years practical experience in nuclear operations role.
  • 3+ years experience leading cross functional teams, negotiating and building consensus
  • Leadership - functions independently and as a team member. Critical thinker who can deliver solutions and drive improvement by measuring, managing and reporting on the assigned categories and vendors. Focused on execution and results.
  • Superior analytic, project management, relationship building, negotiation, verbal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated specific category knowledge in Construction Estimating/Scheduling and Project Management Professional Services, Contract Labor, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of sourcing/contracting principles. Ability to multi-task and function in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience using IAS, Oracle|Primavera P6, contract management software, and other supply chain technologies.
  • Experience driving continuous process improvements and measuring customer satisfaction.
  • Experience implementing programs which increase diverse spend and which implement socially conscious and/or sustainable procurement initiatives. Strong skills using the suite of Microsoft Office products.

Engineering

Senior Level Railway or Highway Engineer
Southern Asia

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with at least 20 years professional experience. During those 20 years, must have worked for at least 8 years as a Project Manager/Team Leader using software such as MS Project/ Primavera for Railway/Highway construction projects. Must have successfully completed at least one Railway Project in Construction of new lines/doubling/gauge conversion of minimum length of 50 route kms., preferably with overhead electrification.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with Railway Construction Projects in a developed country is an added advantage.
  • Candidate must be familiar with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and must have experience handling projects funded by multilateral funding agencies.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English language.


Contract Management Expert
Southern Asia

Seeking a Senior level Graduate Civil Engineer with at least 15 years experience in Railway and Highway Sector. Must have worked for at least 8 years on Project Management of Railway/Highway Contracts, costing over US$35 million (single Project).

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with Railway Construction projects in a developing country is an added advantage.
  • Must have strong experience in Preparation of Cost Estimates and Administration of Contracts funded by Multi-lateral Agencies.
  • Must have experience reviewing Contractual Claims under FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Scheduling/Project Controls

Scheduler
Southern Asia

Senior level Railway/Highway Engineer with a minimum of a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 15 years professional experience. Must have at least 5 years' experience as a Deputy Team Leader/Project Manager/Resident Engineer/Scheduler working with software such as MS Project/Primavera for Railway/Highway construction projects.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience of successfully completing as a Deputy Team Leader/Project Manager/Resident Engineer or Scheduler at least one Railway project involving Construction of New Lines/Doublings/Gauge Conversion of minimum length of 50 route kms. (Preferably with Overhead Electrification.)
  • Experience working on Railway projects in a developed country is a distinct added advantage.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English Language.
  • Some travel and working away from home is required, international career position of at least 48 month duration.
