APM Marine Container Terminal

Project Summary

The project involved construction of a new 291-acre, 55-foot deep-water Marine Container Terminal to handle cargo for Maersk Line, one of the world’s largest shipping lines. This $550 million project included development of the site as well as relocation and restoration of protected wetlands; staged dredging of the harbor and channel; new concrete wharf; site development with underground drainage system, electrical distribution, roadways and parking; an electrical substation; on-site roadways; and on-site railroad tracks and yard.
