Project Summary
This program was a continuation of the Phase 1 Automated People Mover (APM) system at Washington Dulles International Airport. The design of Phase 2 involved three separate Tunnel segments, including the Baggage Tunnel from the main Terminal to Tier 2, the Pedestrian Tunnel from Tier 1 to Tier 2, and the extension of the West APM Tunnel from Tier 1 to Tier 2. Other contract options included the Baggage Tunnel from Tier 2 to Tier 3, the Pedestrian Tunnel from Tier 2 to Tier 3, and the completion of the second ATS (Airport Train System) tunnel from Tier 3 to the ATS Maintenance Facility including an additional rail spur at this facility.
