Alpha received the Grand Award at the 2026 ACEC/MD Engineering Excellence Awards for our work on the I 270 Innovative Congestion Management Project with MDOT SHA.
Alpha’s own Stephen McVeigh, PMP led delivery of Maryland’s first Progressive Design Build delivery project. This $120M public investment transformed one of Maryland’s busiest corridors implementing the state’s first ramp metering system, improving safety, mobility, and daily commutes for thousands through integrated planning, execution, and delivery.
We are so proud of Stephen and his team for their outstanding delivery of this important project. The award was accepted by Stephen McVeigh, PMP; Jason Backover, CCM; Heidi VanLuven, PE; and Kathleen Linehan, PE on behalf of the Alpha team.
