Thursday, May 4, 2017, was an exciting evening of celebration at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia. On this evening, the National Park Service (NPS) and Alpha Corporation were recognized by the Construction Management Association of America National Capital Chapter (CMAA NCC) for the selection of the Install Irrigation, Drainage, Water Collection System and Relandscape the Mall—Phases 2 and 3, National Mall & Memorial Parks project as the 2016 Project Achievement Award winner for Infrastructure < $25M dollars.
As an assignment under Alpha’s BPA for CM Services with NPS, this project improved the conditions at five lawn panels between the US Capitol and the Washington Monument by re-engineering the soil; replacing the irrigation systems; installing granite curbs; reconstructing walkways, drainage systems, underground water collection systems, and storage structures; and re-establishing turf.
