The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) awarded a 2019 Engineering Excellence Award – National Recognition Award to Alpha Corporation (Alpha) and the National Parks Service (NPS) for program management services on the $380 million Gateway Arch National Park Program.

The program was the result of a design competition connect the park back to the city. Previously separated from the city by a sunken interstate, the program created a land bridge over the highway for an easily walkable path from St. Louis. It also involved a $115 million renovation and expansion of the museum and visitors center and several other improvements. This program was completed under the largest public-private partnership in the nation’s national park system.

Alpha provided construction management support on behalf of NPS, performing both management and technical services while coordinating the efforts of multiple government and private stakeholders on nine of the Program’s 13 projects.
