Dulles International Airport - Fuel Farm Expansion

Project Summary

Expansion of the existing fuel tank farm at Washington Dulles International Airport was required to meet the aircraft fueling requirements for anticipated future growth. The existing site, which was approximately 800’x700′ contained nine above-ground fuel storage tanks, with associated containment dikes, a fuel pumping/filtration station and fuel control facility. The fuel storage capacity of 4,667,120 gallons was increased to 8,279,120 gallons by adding additional tanks and the pumping/filtration capacity of 10,800 gallons per minute was upgraded to support the current and ultimate future growth of the airport.
