Project Summary
The Deanwood Community Center and Library is a 60,000 SF joint-use facility which was the first of its kind for the District of Columbia. The Center supports both educational and indoor/outdoor recreational activities and includes an aquatic center with a 25 meter swimming pool, a full court gymnasium, and a library with computer rooms. The community center contains multipurpose rooms, a fitness room, a senior room, a music room and an early daycare room. Adjoining the Center are football and baseball fields, tennis courts, and children play areas. The Center promotes both athletic and academic excellence as it serves as an anchor for community involvement in a revitalized neighborhood.
